Dolly Llama Streamer
The Dolly Llama Streamer fly is a fly that was originally created to catch salmon in Alaska. This fly has caught everything from large steelhead, wild trout, and warm water fish like bass and pike. This is one of our favorite streamer flies for big trophy trout which makes it easier to cast and allows you to strip it slower especially in the shallow water. This streamer moves effortlessly in the water and can be fished as a searching pattern, but it also does very well when used to mimic baitfish and leeches. You can fish this streamer by casting it across the river and swinging it down and across, or just the classic upstream strip. The Dolly Llama is tied in attractor colors however, the more common colors are all white, black over white, and olive over white.
 
The articulated hook in the back end of the fly maximizes hook ups.  The #6 is the most popular size for smaller fish and the #2 is great for larger fish, deep water and swift pools. The #6 measures 4.5” while the #2 measures 5”.
