Mop Fly
The Mop Fly. Say what you will, but this fly catches fish! To start, this fly is an excellent "searching" fly, especially for trout. It is a great fly for panfish, bluegill and bass too. What does this fly imitate?  Caddis, Cranefly Larva, Scuds, Nymphs, Grubs. You name it! These flies feature a bead head and soak up water fast, so they sink quickly, getting into the fishes feeding lane. This is one of the most productive nymph patterns available. When the fishing is slow, tie one on and see what happens!
