Maple Syrup

The Maple Syrup is a well-known imitation of a Hexagenia mayfly nymph that is known to most fly fishers. This fly was created in Maine by Alvin Theriault. It is well known for its effectiveness as a Drake or Hex mayfly nymph. This is a simple pattern that has been modified in many ways and is a proven fish catcher. Sometimes we overcomplicate our fly patterns and this fly is a perfect example of less is more. Tied on premium Daiichi hooks in standard, beadhead or conehead versions.
